Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Hayate lands gently on the floor and walks over to Rikali.
Hm. So. Tell me, angel or devil? You have rather impressive power, I know only one other person who's survived that. He fumbles with a small pouch on his belt and pulls out what appears to be a small vial Try this. It's not much of a healer, but a damn fine painkiller. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"I'm...a...demon." Through Rikali's eyes, the fear-beast melts away, truly revealing Hayate for the first time. Her hands reach out to gratefully take the potion. "I shouldn't have survived it. Bliss...saved me." She stares woefully at the remains of the battle axe. She knows that the weapon had been reacting against her, as it did in the hands in another. But yet, it still had saved her. But now the loyal weapon was nothing more then metal. Even if it was remade, the axe would be nothing more then metal to Rikali.
Riki uses the potion and stares at Hayate. "What exactly are you?" |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Hayate smiles slightly. Demon, eh? Well... that could be useful
Me? I'm a.. hmm... traveller. I think that will suffice for now. Now you've calmed down, I don't suppose you'd tell me your name? Hayate's curious about a great many things and decides, for once, maybe having someone willing to talk is a good idea |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Legion hops into the cafe through the hole in the wall that had yet to be prepared. He looked around and spotted Hayate and Riki. He had ment Rikali many years ago, along with Ayn. "Well hello angry lady, if I remember correctly, I was looking for goldielocks last time I saw you too. Funny, no?" The Archdemon gave a goofy grin, which he had also made before. With any luck she didn't know that he worked for Rand, or if he was even luckier, who Rand was. That would definately make his job easier.

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Legion like the Demon-Angel/Protoplasm enemies in CastleVania? :P
*Appears in his typical puft of maniacally magical moogliness* I am here! ...I think... |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Hayate raises an eyebrow and looks at Legion, then at Riki, then back to Legion.
...You'd be the Tooth Fairy, right? He keeps his left arm and the short sword behind his cloak. Whoever this newcomer is, he seems rather tough. Probably best to remain civil |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
*yrrrhawne*
Why is it that they all ignore the moogle? The moogle is important too! The moogle will kick your ass if you get out of line... just don't fight in the cafe then, kupo? |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Legion looks at Hayate and the Moogle, somewhere between amused and annoyed. "I'm looking for goldielocks...er...Ayn. I saw some one take her in here. Know where she went?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Rikali glares at Legion, loathing burning deep in her eyes. Her gaze turns to Hayate.
"My name is Rikali. Do not trust that...creature." |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Legion speaks in a mockingly shocked voice. "How rude! That's no way to address a superior. If you won't tell me, I'll just find her myself."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Riki bows her head in mock respect to the Archdemon. "My apologies." Her voice is full of scorn.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
A knife wizzes by Rikali's head, and cuts off some of her hair. Legion sneers. "That's the problem with you damn newborns, power without purpose." Legion looks through the cafe quickly, thinking as he walks.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
A superior?
Ah... I see. A High Demon. We haven't seen anyone come in. He gestures to the rather scorched floor and molten mass of metal We've been a little busy. Meanwhile, inside Hayate's head, various thoughts are arranging themselves. The Ayn that the High Demon spoke of would probably be the same that he'd heard mentioned while in the castle. Meaning he has the chance to make powerul friends or enemies. Decision time? ... He strolls over to the bar and leans against the door to the backroom idly. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Legion ignores Hayate after hearing that they haven't seen anyone. He really wasn't in the mood for a fight, and after seeing the damage done to the cafe which he assumed was from the fight between Rikali and the man, he had a feeling he couldn't easily win. He continues to look through the cafe, and fails to pays attention to the backrooms.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Hayate watches the High Demon fruitlessly search for his quarry, while sipping a drink. He's not exactly aware of the implications of what he's just done, but figures anyone who's got one of Hell's "finest" after them is probably going to be someone interesting.
He relaxes somewhat, while retaining a general aura of apathy. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
After a few more minutes of aimless searching, Legion mutters some rather vulgar words to himself, though it's loud enough for almost everyone in the cafe to hear quite clearly. "Damnit, I saw the Abbis drag someone in here from the castle...could it have been someone else? Doubtful, but then where the hell is she?!" Obviously frustrated, he still manages to remain somewhat calm looking. "This place is big...I just need to look around some more."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
If you were gonig to hide someone this valuable, wouldn't you hide them somewhere less obvious? I mean, this place seems to be the crossroads of this world. If you were being cunning, you'd hide her in somewhere they'd never look. Try that weird castle.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Rikali glares at Legion. She's intelligent enough not to attack him. He's not an Archdemon for any reason. A fight would be more of a slaughter. Through her eyes, Legion looks like some gross cross between himself and the fear-beast. She feels a stronge impulse to fight him, but the sane part of her mind tells her, quite firmly, no.
She glances at Hayate and walks over to him. This traveller may be an ally. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"I saw her go in the castle, then a guy dragged someone here. It had to be here. I KNOW she's here." Legion steps outside, and examines the complex. "Hm.."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Seeing the demon head outside, Hayate checks out anything hidden under the bar while gesturing Rikali to stand in front of the door. He's not saying anything about it, as he's not sure if the high demon can still hear him.
So, tell me. What brings you here, Rikali? Are you a local? |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Two bat-like wings rip out of Legion's back and he flies into the air. After reaching a high enough alititude, he can see the entire complex. "As I thought, to big for only the cafe area." The Archdemon swoops down and examines the cafe, trying to find a second entrance.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"I came here searching for my husband, Katayk, and my daughter Rose. I suppose you could call us local...for the time being. What about you?"
Rikali draws two daggers out of her belt and stands in front of the door. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
*Appears in his atypical puft of maniacally magical moogliness*
Heeeey, time to cause some mayhem...err...visit the cafe. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Outside the cafè, the clouds begin to gather over a small square of land. The clouds swirl mysteriously, and moments pass with nothing happening. Suddenly, a narrow beam of white light protrudes from the sky, peircing the clouds with ease, and colliding with the ground. The ground begins to be torn asunder as the beam widens. Suddenly, the sound of an angelic choir fills the air and crecendos to a deafining shriek as a figure decends quickly from the sky and collides with the ground sending a shockwave of dust that pounds the cafè walls. The beam disappears as quickly as it came, and the clouds go with it.
The figure, dressed in black attire, stands still as she absorbs what just happened. She steadies her red eyes onto the cafè entrance and waits for something to happen. Her white hair blows elegantly in the breeze, and she rests heavily on her skull-decorated blade. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Hayate sighs quietly before launcing into an abridged version of his story
Basically, I'm here to find the remains of my sword. It got shattered a while back, after I tried opening an inter-planar portal. Still, it worked, and now I'm here. A shadow flits across the window and Hayate sighs again He can fly, can't he? |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Yes...Legion can fly. What's this sword of yours look like?" "And why," Riki thinks, "is it so important that you're after it even though it shattered?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
I'm a little concerned he might spot that room from the air.
If you hear anything, tell me. Hayate draws his sword to show it to Rikali. As he draws it, the temperature in teh room noticeably drops. Water droplets start to condense out of the air onto the softly glowing katana as it rests on the counter. On close inpection, there are chunks missing from the blade and about 2 inches missing from the end My sword; my Murasame. I'd advise against touching it. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Legion enters again, having failed to spot another door. "Hm...must be in here."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Rikali glares at Legion, but her attention is caught by the sword. "What magic is this?" Her voice is a hiss and she holds Hayate's warning against touching it.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Hayate glances at Legion as he enters, but returns to more pressing issues
The blade is cursed. It maintains it's razor edge and magical properties by absorbing the energy around it. He swings the blade a couple of times, then sheaths it Still, if you can handle the blade, it becomes a useful toy. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Legion looks at Rikali and then Hayate. "My my, it's very rude to stare." Legion snickers and hops over the bar. "Oh where, oh where is the second entrance? Oh where, oh where could it be?" Legion eventually finds a small door marked, "Employes Only." The Archdemon smiles. "Bingo."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Hayate curses inwardly, but remains calm.
There's just food and drink back there, I don't know what you're so happy about. Don't think we were just standing around while you were out. I'm mean, I'd hate to be on the bad side of such a powerful High Demon, so I checked out behind there, as I thought you'd missed it. Again, his left arm his hidden behind his back, but he tries to look concerned that the demon doesn't trust him |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Legion raises an eyebrow to Hayate and puts his hand on the doorknob. He turns it, or tries to, but the door is locked. "Then may I asked how you opened it?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Doors aren't always nessecary. And I'd never dare open the 'Employee's only' door. Watch.
Lightning seems to crackle aroud Hayate for a moment and with a rush of air, he's gone. A second or so later, he's back A little trick I picked up. Doesn't worl over long distances, but helps with breaking-and-entering |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Legion mumbles something to himself before speaking. "Well, that's certainly an intresting teleportation ability. However, I still don't see how that proves anything. I have found the words of men to be untrustworthy. Therefore, I shall be going in. Oh, and I hope for your sake you didn't lie about no one being in there." Legion lets a knife slide out of his sleeve and holds the blade for a few moments. Slowly, the blade turns red but does not burn his hand. He eyes the hinges of the door.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"..."
The robed figure silently enters the nearly empty Cafe, and scans around. Her red eyes gleam curiously, and she emits a playful *Squee* as she notices that there are others here. She studies the people from afar, afraid of the strange energies emitting from everyone. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
The doors of the cafe open and a young man walks through. The man is dressed in a grey suit and a white, ruffled shirt underneath the suit jacket. A matching grey hat lay on his shoulder-length black hair and his bangs covered a bit of his dark black eyes. The bottom half of his face is slightly hidden by the neatly trimmed goatee and mustache. His strikingly good looks could not be denied. His hands are covered by white gloves and hold a white cane, although it seems the cane is more for show then an aid in walking.
He walks towards the bar and quietly takes a seat. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Rikali eyes the two strangers with distrust, thinking that they may be friends of the Archdemon. Her eyes rest on the man a little longer. Finally, she moves her gaze to Legion. Hayate could pretend to be friends with him all he wanted, but Riki had no reason to bow to the Archdemon's power.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Hayate's looking rather pale, and grabs the counter to stop the floor spinning. This, he recalls, is why he hates doing that
If... if I'm that untrustworthy, where do you think I just went? Whatever i do, you can find a way to refute it. You can either trust me, and not go in there, or not trust me and see your friend isn't there. Or, he adds mentally, you can call my bluff. Ah well. As long as the floor stops spinning shortly, I'm sure that things will sort themselves out |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Or, you could be trying to hide something, hm? The trust of men means little to me, as I do not need them, nor want them, to carry out my will. Now, I shall be opening this door, and if you wish to remain neutral in whatever conflicts plaque this land, I suggest you hold your tounge." Legion then slices off the first set of hinges on the door and begins to heat the knife again. This stranger was proving to be amusing, and Legion was almost hoping for the man to try and stop them, so he could fight him.
